CELEBRITY chef James Martin left Women’s Institute members’ pulses racing, after dropping in to share some of his his culinary secrets with them.
The Saturday Kitchen TV star visited Southmoor village hall yesteday, for a question-and-answer session with 50 members of WI branches across Oxfordshire, right, Earlier Mr Martin had demonstrated how to use tinned food in tasty recipes on a visit to the WI’s cookery class headquarters at Denman College, in Marcham, above.
Kingston Bagpuize and Southmoor WI president Sue Melling said: “My ladies were all a-twitter when he got here, and it was absolutely brilliant.
“The main thing I learned was to think about using tinned fruit in tagines, instead of dried apricots and the like.”
And committee member Elaine Manning added: “He wasn’t afraid of the WI at all.
“He felt very comfortable with us, answered all our questions, and signed all our books.”
