FLYTIPPERS have blighted a quiet village on the outskirts of Oxford with rubbish — twice.
Earlier this month, waste, including buckets, rubble, a yellow toilet, zebra-striped blanket, and empty plastic bottles and cans, appeared on a bridleway, leading towards Shotover Hill.
And, also this month, seven tyres and a television appeared on Cuddesdon Road in Horspath.
Last night, South Oxfordshire District Council appealed for information about the waste so it could prosecute the culprits.
Keith Brooks, from Horspath, contacted the Oxford Mail with a photograph of the fly-tipped tyres. He said “petty rules” at the Redbridge recycling centre were contributing to the mess.
He suspected the individual responsible for dumping the waste had been turned away from the tip.
An Oxfordshire County Council spokesman said: “Redbridge is operated for the depositing of household waste and recyclables free of charge.
“It also accepts tyres, which are not classified as household waste. A charge is made so that they can be recycled.
“It is rightly part of the role of on-site staff to ask reasonable questions to determine the source of waste arriving on-site. This is often done in order to prevent trade waste illegally entering the site.”
If anyone knows about the fly-tipped rubbish call South Oxfordshire District Council on 01491 823416 or email environmental.services@southoxon Pictures: Heather Palmer

The real point is that once limits and retrictions are set, ithe popular perception is that it is difficult or will cost to tip.
Fly tipping is the inevitable result
