A TEENAGER has been remanded in custody charged with breaching his antisocial behaviour order.

Byron Haines denied the charge at Oxford Magistrates’ Court yesterday following an alleged incident outside the mother-and-baby unit in Bullingdon Road, East Oxford, on June 23.

Rhoda Nikolay, prosecuting, said the 19-year-old – from Greater Leys but now living in Henley Street, East Oxford – used threatening words and behaviour towards members of the public.

Haines was given a one-year extension to a previous two-year Asbo at the same court on September 11 last year.

It banned him from certain areas of Blackbird Leys and Greater Leys, from associating with certain people and abusing or harassing members of the public.

Magistrates refused to accept jurisdiction over the case and it will now be committed to Oxford Crown Court for trial later this month.

Haines was remanded in custody, but will be able to apply for bail again next Thursday.
