England and Wales will have a reasonably mild but mainly cloudy and blustery night with patchy rain and drizzle, although northern England should turn clearer and a bit colder towards morning with just the odd left-over shower. Tomorrow, Wales, the Midlands and southern England will start mild but overcast with patchy rain and a brisk wind. During the day, the damp and drizzly weather will become confined to south Wales and south west England, with other areas becoming brighter with sunny spells and just the odd shower. Outlook: England and Wales will slowly turn much colder from the east with overnight frost becoming widespread by Saturday, but there will also be increasing amounts of sunshine.
