Magnolia Park, the impressive new course on the Oxfordshire/Bucks border at Boarstall, today hosts the second tournament of the PGA Southern Tour.

The 72-hole Magnolia Park Classic is played over three days, with a prize fund of 25,000 sponsored by Walters Micro-Systems.

A total of 132 professionals have entered, including former Ryder Cup star Paul Way and European Tour regular Glenn Ralph, who is now attached to Camberley Heath (Surrey). Local pros taking part are James Burton, Dusan Gavrilovic and Richard Percival (Studley Wood), Lee Jackson (Frilford Heath), Paul Simpson (West Berks), Richard Jefferies (Lyneham), Mark Booth (Witney Lakes), Neil Pike (The Oxfordshire), Bob Harris (North Oxford) and Andrew Taylor, from the host club.

Defending champion is Andrew McKenna from Thorney Park (Iver, Bucks).

The top 40-plus ties play the final 36 holes on Saturday, with the champion receiving the trophy and 5,000.
