Trevor Want

Neighbours in Cassington are coming to terms with the loss of a good friend and family member.

The recent death of Trevor Want, the neighbourhood milkman, has shaken the village community for whom he was a much-loved and respected friend.

Mr Want, 53, died suddenly earlier this month of a heart attack, leaving a widow, Marianne, and a son and daughter.

The village church of St Peter's was packed to capacity for his funeral, with mourners standing inside as well as outside in the churchyard. Mr and Mrs Want, lived in one of a row of nine terraced cottages in Bell Lane housing various relatives from the same family, including grandparents, parents and cousins.

Mr Want's mother, Win, aged 88, also survives him.

Before he joined United Dairies in Witney in 1987, later becoming its franchisee of the year, Mr Want ran the village shop in Cassington with his wife for 14 years.

Mrs Want said "I knew Trevor was a popular man but I didn't know how much people thought about him until this happened."
