Oxford City Stars' English National League season ended in disappointing fashion as they crashed to a 10-1 defeat at Telford.

With a squad weakened by injury, suspension and unavailability, Oxford iced a first line of Josh Grocutt, Ben Lay, Kris Abbott, Jeff Sinnott and James Roberts, while the remaining players, Paul Donohoe, Andy Johnston, Pete Taylor, Lewis Clifford and Andy Cox made up the second line.

Stars took the lead in the first period through Andy Johnston, but Telford scored twice to end the period with a 2-1 lead.

Telford went on to win the second and third periods by 4-0 scorelines. Oxford used Matt Cameron in nets for the first half of the game than gave Amy Johnson the rest of the match.

Oxford maintained their second position in English Under 14 League South with a comfortable 5-1 win over Streatham on Saturday. Oxford took a 3-0 lead in the first period through Sam Broughton (2) and Daniel Dovenmuehle.

Streatham pulled one back in the second session but Dovenmuehle and Broughton each scored again to seal the win.
