Bicester twins Andrew and Jeremy Flint are training for the London marathon -- but only one will run.

The pair, 25, have been training together since January, but on the day, Jeremy will be cheering on his brother from the sidelines.

The brothers sent off their applications but both were refused. It was only when Andrew, of Market End Way, decided to run for a national charity that he managed to get a place.

Every week the pair run from their parent's home, in Kidlington, to Headington and back again.

Andrew said: "It's about 16 miles. I will carry on putting in a long run each week building up to about 20 or 22 miles."

The pair will also be running in the Reading half-marathon in March.

It will be the second consecutive year Andrew has taken part in the London Marathon. Last year he completed the 26-mile route in just over four hours.

Andrew, a trainee accountant, will be running to raise funds for the National Asthma Campaign. He added: "I am hoping to beat last year's time but I'm a bit heavier than I was."

He added: "I used to suffer with asthma when I was a child and I used to have some pretty bad times with my breathing."

His target is £1,250, so far he has raised £750. To make a donation please call 01869 323764.
