Bicester stay one point clear at the top of Division 1 after a hat-trick of tries by full back Chris Nash led them to a 44-5 victory at home to Drifters.

Bicester were out of touch in the early stages, during which skipper Martin Ewins departed with a back injury and lock George Williams was sin-binned.

But tries by Jason Smith, flanker Peter Buinimasi and scrum half Ross Cunningham gave them a 15-5 interval lead.

The second half belonged to Chris Nash, who went over for three tries as Bicester ran riot. Their other scores came from flanker Mark Grace and Cunnigham, who added two conversions.

Wallingford saw off Thatcham 17-0 in blustery conditions at The Hithercroft to enhance their chances of promotion.

Wallingford dominated up front, but had only an unconverted try by scrum half Danny Burns to show for their efforts before half-time.

After the interval, Wallingford turned the screw to run in two more tries through Johnny Collett and the try of the game came from stand-in flanker Kieran Murphy, after fine inter-play by the back row. Leigh Lewis slotted the conversion.

Former Oxfordshire fly half Pat Jobson scored a try on his debut for Littlemore as they avenged a previous defeat with a 23-13 victory at home to Shire Hall in Division 2.

Jobson, who has played most of his career with Chinnor and Oxford, scored a penalty and a try as Littlemore came from behind to lead 8-3 at half-time.

Littlemore had to face the strong wind in the second half, but tries from the Australian pair of Alan Jones and Dan Jorgensen settled the game.

Skipper Darren Massey added another, before Shire Hall scored two consolation tries in the last five minutes.

New coach Jon Cant appears to be working wonders for Abingdon, who gained a surprise 13-0 win away to leaders Gosford All Blacks.

Playing in a swirling wind, Abingdon had the better of the first half, but led only courtesy of a penalty by Xavier Lecocq.

However, a 20-minute burst at the start of the second half saw Abingdon gain an unassailable lead with tries from Dave Wadsworth and Tim Nash.

Determined defence thwarted Gosford's attempted comeback.
