Vauxhall is targeting teenage motorists with a £500 insurance bonus as car-makers launch marketing programmes in the tussle for March registrations.

Buyers aged 17-20 of Corsa Club, Comfort and SXi derivatives will get the discount as long as they buy cover from Vauxhall Insurance.

For drivers aged 21-80, Vauxhall will provide a year's free insurance on the same three versions of Corsa.

Other manufacturers have incentives and special editions in place for March 1 when a rush is expected for the new plate.

Daihatsu's revamped Cuore will be sold with the company's '333' customer care initiative. For three years, the owner will have free servicing up to 36,000 miles, roadside recovery and an unlimited mileage warranty. Prices start at £5,995 for the three-door Cuore 1.0 E, which costs £450 less than the previous model.

Nissan has revised the Almera Tino MPV and introduced the first special edition since the model was launched in August 2000 -- there are also free loans on most Tinos.
