Authors and book lovers gathered at the Randolph Hotel, in Beaumont Street, on October 22 for the second Oxford literary lunch organised by The Oldie magazine. It is owned by Sir John Paul Getty, who was among about 200 guests.

The speakers were promoting recent works on Rumpole, Joyce Grenfell and the so-called Angry Young Men.
