Estate is set for a hole lot of work

A POTHOLE-RIDDLED road in Oxford will close for up to two weeks from today for essential repairs.

Wood Farm Road will be shut at the junction with The Slade for the work.

Pete Bonney, 70, of Nuffield Road, said: “It is about time. The road is an absolute disgrace.”

In January, county transport chiefs pledged £1m to fix potholes following damage inflicted by the most severe winter weather in 30 years.

Engineering services manager Shaun Hatton said: “We hope that the road will only need to be closed for a week.

“In the meantime we have set up diversions through Old Road and Titup Hall Drive so that the estate will be fully serviced by buses.”

Looks more like a resurfacing job that a patch up to me. Give it 3 months and the buses will have churned it up again. More money down the drain.

Very true. They have just finished 'patching' the Iffley Road and it's as bad now as it was a week ago before they started.

I meant THAN not That. P.S. Nice chap that he is, I don't think that Pete should be walking in the road with those crutches, he might fall down a pothole!!

I will send over a gang of Greek road workers. The whole job will be completed in one day
