A CYCLIST suffered minor injuries in a hit-and-run accident in North Oxford this morning.
The male cyclist, aged 70, was taken to hospital following the collision with a white van in Woodstock Road.
David Staines, a spokesman for Thames Valley Police, said the van failed to stop following the collision shortly before 11am, and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
The crash happened between the junctions of Beech Croft Road and Moreton Road.
Mr Staines said: “The cyclist was travelling towards Oxford when he was clipped by the van, which was travelling in the same direction.
“This caused him to fall from his cycle, and he suffered minor injuries.
“The van, thought to be a Mercedes Sprinter or similar model, failed to stop following the accident.
“The van is thought to have displayed red lettering advertising a local or national firm.”

A spokesman for South Central Ambulance said the man had been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for treatment.
