Ashton’s Pete Fenn (+50) just got the better of Ross Mabbutt (+100) 150-140, but veteran Ken Olive (+70) made it 1-1 when he surprised John Street (+50) 150-137.
Terry Chambers (scratch) made breaks of 23, 23, and 28 to beat fellow captain Brian Mabbutt (+20) 200-157, despite the latter’s 31 break.
In Division 2, Oracle won 2-1 at Division 1’s Fieldside.
Fieldside’s Paul Robinson (-60) returned to form, compiling breaks of 20, 43 and 53 to beat Craig Pullen (+110) 200-177.
But Gordon Cook (+70) thrashed Norman Woodcock (+70) 150-84, and then Shaun Lewis (+110) saw off Mike Chapman (+70) 150-144.
Riley B triumphed 3-0 at Headington Conservative Club A.
Roger Tomlin (+90) beat Ghassan Al-Murani (+90) 150-88, Doug Baker (+60) saw off Paul Caria (+125) 150-145 and Keith Maskens (+50) defeated John Williams (+70) 150-140.
Cowley A saw off Thame 2-1, with Dick Hashman (+10), who made breaks of 28 and 36, and Peter Hawkes (+135) their winners.
New Club won 2-1 at Eynsham, with Dean Watson (+50), who made a 36 break, and Geoff Barrett (+80) sealing the victory.
