AS THE stop watch clicked to zero, Tracey Pointer sped off with just two minutes to grab all she could from a supermarket’s shelves.

Mum-of-three Mrs Pointer, 30, won a trolley dash at Bicester’s Iceland, in Sheep Street, after being picked from the store’s bonus club members list.

Days earlier she had been to the store to stake it out and prepare her strategy.

Her game plan was to grab as much Christmas stock as possible to ensure her cupboards and freezer at home were stuffed full of festive goodies.

Wearing trainers to make sure she kept on her feet, Mrs Pointer bagged £326.25 of goods.

Manager Matt Wyatt said the average was about £250. Mrs Pointer, of Ashby Road, Bicester, was cheered on by husband Stuart, 34, and twins Ellie and Harry, five, though elder son Oliver, 11, could not make it.

Mrs Pointer, who works at the Co-op, in Bure Park, “I thought I would attempt to get all the way around, but I only got half way. The two minutes just flew by.”

“It was the chance in a lifetime. How often do you get that opportunity – I just thought ‘go!’.

“I intended to get stuff for Christmas but when you are doing it, it just completely goes out of your mind.

“It was definitely good fun.”

Mrs Pointer filled two trolleys with food, which in turn filled 20 plastic bags that needed nine delivery crates.

Her haul included party platters, biscuits, chocolates, meat and wine.

It was the Bicester store’s first such event since opening in September.
