HI-TECH company RM has won a £2.3m contract to supply a state-of-the art computer system to the Oxford Academy, which opened last year on the site of Peers School.
RM, based at Milton Park, near Abingdon, said the deal included ICT equipment and services and a five-year managed service.
It is believed to be one of the largest deals of its type to date.
The Oxford Academy is undergoing a £33m building programme to provide a state-of-the-art learning environment for up to 1,450 students and the wider community.
RM is providing a school management system, whereby pupils have smart cards for cashless catering, access and the library.
Students will also be able to create, store and broadcast scheduled and on-demand video and TV. RM staff will provide on-site training, development and support for five years.
RM chief executive Terry Sweeney said: “The Oxford Academy is ambitious and forward-thinking, and I feel sure it will bring huge benefits to its students.
“It is therefore very exciting for us to not only equip them with similarly innovative and forward-looking ICT equipment, but also to be building a relationship with them over the coming years.”
David Baron, finance director at the Oxford Academy, said: “RM is a company that not only understands our needs and can provide the solutions to them, but one that also is enthusiastic to form a close and ongoing relationship with us.”
