Volunteer medic saved man's life

A VOLUNTEER medic saved a life after coming to the aid of a man suffering a cardiac arrest in Wantage.

Dan Ruby, 27, is a forensic scientist by day but has been a community first responder for two years.

He was on his way home on Saturday when he was called to the man.

Mr Ruby started cardiopulmonary resuscitation, CPR, and by the time an ambulance crew arrived the man had started breathing again.

The man was taken to hospital and has made a full recovery.
