RESIDENTS are being urged to join the fun at Bicester’s carnival tomorrow.

A host of entertainment is planned, including a dog and duck display, dance shows and birds of prey demonstration. Young pianist Michael Ng has been lined up to play two performances.

The event begins with a procession of 15 carnival floats, decorated using the theme of unity, which will leave Cooper School at noon.

It will wind its way down Buckingham Road, Sheep Street and Market Square and the Causeway where floats will be parked up behind the community hospital.

Revellers will then make their way to the carnival site at the rugby club ground in Oxford Road. Town mayor James Porter, right, will officially declare the carnival open at 1pm.

There will be a main arena as well as a host of stalls, a fairground, and refreshments, including a Chinese buffet.

Members of Bomber Command will be dressed in wartime RAF and Army gear and people will be able to take a close look at their vintage military vehicles.

Mr Porter said: “This year the carnival is about celebrating who we are, your background and where you come from.

“Considering we have just signed a new twinning link with Czernichow, in Poland, it fits in with that.”
