Soldiers' bodies returned from Afghanistan

The bodies of five soldiers killed in Afghanistan arrived at RAF Lyneham in Wiltshire moments ago and are expected to be driven to Oxford shortly.

Hearses carrying the men's coffins will pass along the streets of Wootton Bassett, near Swindon, before making their way to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Lance Corporal David Dennis, 29, from Wales, of the Light Dragoons, and Private Robert Laws, 18, from Worcestershire, of 2nd Battalion the Mercian Regiment, died in separate incidents in Helmand on Saturday.

Lance Corporal Dane Elson, 22, from Wales, of the Welsh Guards, was killed in an explosion on Sunday.

Captain Ben Babington-Browne, 27, from Kent, of the Royal Engineers, died in a helicopter crash in Zabul Province on Monday.

And Trooper Christopher Whiteside, 20, of The Light Dragoons, from Blackpool, died in a blast near Gereshk in Helmand on Tuesday.
