A MOTORCYCLIST has died after an accident near Hailey, north of Witney, this afternoon.
An Audi A4 car and a motorcycle collided on the B4022, close to the turning for Crawley, at about 2pm.
An ambulance and the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance were called to the scene.
A man in his 40s was flown to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with fractures to his legs and arms.
He died from his injuries at the hospital.
The B4022 was closed between Priest Hill Lane, in Hailey, and Finstock, for about six hours while police carried out an investigation.
The man driving the Audi was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and was being interviewed by police tonight.
The identity of the man who died has not yet been released.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision to call Pc Charlotte Smith on 08458 505505.
