A FORMER BMW worker is facing jail after admitting handling £40,000 of stolen car parts belonging to the firm, between July 2006 and September 2008, before they were sold on Internet auction site eBay.
Sacha Delastic, 25, of Fernhill Close, Tiddington, near Thame, denied an alternative charge of theft relating to the same period at Oxford Crown Court on Friday. Cathy Olliver, prosecuting, said the Crown Prosecution Service was hoping to take action under the Proceeds of Crime Act.
Richard Thomas, defending, said the actual value of the parts to BMW was considerably less than the £40,000 they fetched on the open market.
Mr Recorder John Hardy gave Delastic bail, on condition he did not enter the grounds of BMW, in Cowley, and ordered him to return to the court for sentencing on Friday, April 24.
He said: “All sentencing options are open. The fact that you are being released on bail is not indicative of the sentence you will eventually receive.”
A spokesman for BMW said Delastic no longer worked for the company but declined to comment further.
