Chinnor assistant coach John Vaughan was left frustrated by their patchy display against Lydney.
“Talk about a curate’s egg of a performance,” he said.
“It was pretty poor for 60 minutes, and then we were fantastic for the last 20.
“With five minutes to go, I thought we would to do it.
“Fair play to them, they shut out the game well.
“They seemed to want it more than us in the first half.
“All their tries were from our mistakes, either turnover ball or misplaced kicks.
“Their ten is obviously an excellent player and had some great skills.
“We dug our own grave, but almost got out of it.”
Chinnor's relegation rivals Bridgwater & Albion have been deducted one point after going to uncontested scrums against Ealing on March 21.
The National Clubs Association, which runs the league, deemed Bridgwater had not used all their front-row cover available.
