The age of crinolines and bustles – and cowboys – returned to Oxford when the parent-teacher association at St Nicholas Primary School at Old Marston organised a Victorian Fayre in 1975.
The event, which raised nearly £300 for PTA funds, began with a parade through the streets of Marston by staff, parents and children in their costumes.
After a bazaar in the school hall, a barn dance was held, featuring Victorian parlour singing and a can-can by six members of staff, including the organiser, Margery Hensel. Does anyone recognise themselves?
