A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of drug dealing in an Oxford park.
He was stopped and questioned by two Police community support officers in Marsh Park, Cowley, at 3.30pm on Tuesday.
Police later arrested the man on possession of a Class C drug with intent to supply.
PC Dave Scott, a neighbourhood specialist officer for Cowley, said: “This is a fantastic example of how Pcsos on patrol provide a visible presence and can help in the detection of crime.
“They patrol the area around Oxford Community School everyday to make sure the pupils get home safely and Marsh Park is part of their patrol.
"There are concerns among residents about cannabis use in the park particularly when the pupils are leaving school.
“The man was smoking what they thought was cannabis so they stopped and questioned him.
"As Pcsos do not generally have the power to search, they called me on the radio, and detained the man.
“I attended, and searched him, finding eleven bags of cannabis worth £20 each at street value and arrested him.
“We will continue with these patrols and do our best to tackle drug misuse, which is one of our neighbourhood priorities in Cowley.”
The man has been bailed until March 3.
