Two more armed robberies have taken place in Oxford, taking the number to five in the past week.
Yesterday, a man was threatened with a handgun in a car park off Banbury Road, North Oxford, at about 9.45pm.
The man handed over his wallet and car keys and the robber drove off in the victim’s Seat Alhambra, which was later found abandoned in nearby Thorncliffe Road.
At about 5pm on Saturday, a man holding a gun went into Ladbrokes in London Road, Headington, and told a member of staff to hand over cash.
On both occasions the robber was described as male and between 5ft 10ins and 6ft tall.
Police have not said how much money was stolen.
Det Insp Simon Morton, investigating the robberies, said: “Although the descriptions of the robbers are slightly different — he has been described as either white, Asian or of Middle Eastern appearance — I believe these incidents at the weekend could be linked with the two robberies that happened on buses and on a taxi driver last week.
“I am keeping an open mind and investigating every possible avenue.”
Anyone with any information should call police on 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

If you had a gun pointed at you then maybe you would not be able to recall exactly what the man holding it looked like.
