A woman broke down in tears today as she told a court she was raped by a man she had met in an Oxford takeaway.

The 22-year-old woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, told Oxford Crown Court she was raped after the man took her to a flat at Windrush Tower, in Blackbird Leys, last November.

Duran Palmer, 23, of Aytoun Place, Brixton, in London, denies a charge of rape.

The woman said she met a man named Sean — who the prosecution claims was Palmer — at the Rice and Peas takeaway, in Cowley Road, a few weeks before the alleged attack.

She told the jury she had given him her telephone number and after exchanging some text messages with him, arranged to meet up.

She said: "I walked up and met him and got into his car. It was a black Ford Focus.

"I asked him where we were going and he said it was a surprise. I thought we were going into town for a drink."

The woman added that the man then drove her to Blackbird Leys and took her to a flat in Windrush Tower, where they lay on a bed and watched a James Bond film before he started to try to kiss her.

She said: "I said 'Let's watch the film'. Then he went on top of me and I was pushing his face away.

"He was saying to relax. I was still trying to turn my head away so he couldn't kiss my face.

"He then went to undo my trousers and I was still pushing away. I was telling him 'no' — I did not want to do this."

The case continues.
