JEWELLERY owners in Bromley can have their precious goods valued and security registered at Ernest Jones on April 23.

The Safeguard system marks each item and stores the details on a computer so they can be traced in the event of theft.

Safeguard managing director, Richard Taylor said: “Most people cannot produce receipts because jewellery is often a gift or an heirloom.

“Logging all details on a secure computer system provides all the information the insurance people will need.”
