A fraudster who impersonated learner drivers to take theory tests for them was jailed today.

Illegal immigrant Palwinder Johal - who police said was part of the country's biggest driving test fraud - sat theory tests at centres across the UK before selling on the certificates for £300 each.

Oxford Crown Court heard the 24-year-old was caught by police in Oxford in April while attempting to sit a Construction Industry Board test in Blackbird Leys.

Johal, of Warwick Crescent, Hayes, West London, admitted dishonestly trying to obtain property by deception and two counts of fraud.

He asked for a further charge of conspiracy and one of possessing a false UK driving licence to be taken into consideration.

Alex Durran, prosecuting, said Johal took tests 21 times in 20 different places across the south of England.

Jerome Silva, defending, said: "He was not a major player in this conspiracy. He was a small fish."

Jailing him for two years and recommending that he is deported to his native India, Judge Anthony King said: "You have pleaded guilty to significant and important frauds.

"It strikes at public safety because those who appear to have passed tests when they are not entitled to have done so are a potential danger."

Speaking after the case, Insp Jim Strachan said Johal had tried to take a driving test in Oxford in October 2006.

And hopefully goes striaght from jail to airport without all those bleeding hearts calling him a victim.
He's a criminal, contributing nothing, just taking & costing like so many of his brothers at Campsfield House.

Sorry,

Awaiting verification of his credentials, and of course his legal status.

Uman rights innit!

What's the chances of him being deported? Not much I would say. Labour will probably give him a detached house and a new car!

Why have Oxford Mail removed details of people arrested over car crime in this article http://www.oxfordmai

And why can't we make comments on that article?
One of the names on the article earlier was Gabriel 'the Bonn Square tree protestor'.
If it was accurate then now we know what those sort of people get up to, when they are not hanging in trees.

Due to a lack of transparency on the part of person unknown i suggest it's because they do not understand the division of labour.

They report and we decide is the democratic way.

What they have is quite far from that benchmark.

i presume that all those people who bought his fraudulent pass certificates will have their licences removed, and will have to take these tests again. obviously they felt unable to take the test themselves, probably because they are unable to speak or read english. if that is the case then they shouldn't be on the roads anyway

That's because Gabriel Chamberlain had a long history of drug abuse, burgalary and car theft from Oxford residents, and was a scumbag all along, and not some sort of 'folk hero' as idolised by the Lefty liberal Eco- Nazis, the anti- improvement and development reactionaries and the over- privileged and under- experienced in reality students who championed his 'protest'- which cost the tax payer £12,000 and failed to result in a conviction due to 'lack of witnesses'.

Similarly, this illegal immigrant is a scumbag who has put lives at risks by enabling unqualified people to drive.

Unfortunately, because he has brown skin, the very same 'outraged' white liberals will refuse to acknowledge that he is a criminal scumbag with no right to be here, thus exposing their own inherent racism.

Re: Post by "Hunt".
You seem to be missing the point. The vast majority of Ex-Pats (not "Pates")are not illegal immigrants, criminals and scroungers, and certainly not in the countries which you claim to have recently visited.
Having been a British ex-pat for some 23 years, i can assure you that the vast majority of ex-pats are hard working, follow the rules and regulations and respect the customs of their host countries. Not, as is the case in the U.K. Overun with Illegal immigrants, criminals and scroungers expecting and being given free handouts at the expense of the law abiding taxpayers.

That's not the point is it?

If this person had simply lived in England (legally) there wouldn't be a story.

Yet again, an attempt is made to divert attention away from the real story (illegal immigrant puts other people in danger due to criminality) by making a comparison with law- abiding, tax paying British people contributing to the economy of a poorer Country.

The point is that criminals should be prosecuted and illegal immigrants should be deported REGARDLESS of colour/ race/ religion/ etc etc etc.

Tell me- in Singapore, if a British person had committed the same crime as discussed above, would a sizeable number of Singapore hand- wringers leap to his defence, claiming that the conviction must be due to racism, and that even if it WAS proven beyond all doubt, it must be because Singapore itself had somehow oppressed him so that he had no choice other than act criminally, and that he should be allowed to stay in Singapore regardless?

Racism isn't about locking black people up, or searching young Muslim men more often than Chinese grandmothers at airports, or deporting people who have no right to be in a Country, or stating a rapist's colour in a wanted description, it's about treating people UNFAIRLY because of their colour or race.

The British are by and large a tolerant, fair and reasonable people.

Compare us to the Italians, French or Poles in terms of nationalism and racism.

What people are sick and tired of is some foreigners taking the p*ss by committing crimes; claiming asylum when they they have no genune grounds; over staying 'student' visas; running organised criminal networks from card skimming, prostitution and cannabis farms (all dominated by foreign gangs) and demanding that alien practices (Sharia Law, Halal food, bigamy, marrying a cousin) are 'respected' and enshrined in British Law.

People are also sick and tired of sweeping changes being introduced with no (genuine) consultation by the self- serving politicians (no EU referendum; multiculturalism; mass immigration)and the 'meddling classes' telling them that they are 'Little Englanders', 'racists' or 'ignorant' because they want FAIRNESS.

This is OUR Country, not a get rich scheme or social experiment by a handful of politicians and an army of hand wringers who live in safe, overwhelmingly white, middle class areas while denouncing everyone who has to deal with the REAL consequences- from pensioners harrassed by teenagers out into the early hours, to black mothers who have lost their sons to knife and gun crime to young people unable to get a training or a living wage due to migrants accepting lower wages will will go a lot further when they go home, stopping only to claim all their tax back if they do so within a year.
