Good news to hear, there are too many property sharks in this city exploiting the affordable housing shortages in this city and putting profit before safety.

I took a landlord to court last year after he blatently stole my deposit after some pathetic unproven excuse of damage. I wisely had witnesses to come to court with and he didnt. The court judge took hardly any time to inform the rip off merchant that he didn't have any right to keep my money and I was awarded a refund and costs.

Too arrogant to conform to an enforcement notice and too important to attend Court. This man should have been compelled to attend and explain himself.

Still, mustn't upset him.

Will we be informed if he pays up?

As a law abiding Muslim, will the Council do anything about the (Pakistani) Landlords in the Cowley Area who take advantage of the less well off and expect tenants to live in miserable, unhygienic, unsafe and over-crowded conditions of their properties.

I am Pakistani too but disgusted at the behaviour of these landlords, who treat their tenants with comtempt.

My friend is looking to rent but several offers of help for accommodation means the landlords expect him to live in an already overcrowded house (so unfit for purpose) at the maximum rent.

These landlords are operating a monopoly in Cowley. One landlord as 50 properties, run by his 'spoons' who are illiterate.

These are the very same landlords and 'spoons' who are benefit cheats, claiming everything under the sun (supposedly 'disabled', who drive taxis at night to evade being caught, live in Council Homes, claim to be poor). Yet, they have vasts sums of money which they transfer back home or distribute amongst themselves, and do not have a bank account in case monies are traced.

When will landlords be accountable for the conditions of their properties. When will the Council bring to account these cheats.

I am fed up with these cheating landlords taking advantage of vunerable tenants, who do not complain as they (the tenants) will probably get thrown out if they complained, or the tenants are overstayers/illegals and canot ay anything.

Why only Pakistanis? Why not target ALL landlords who are offering dodgy property?

Because, as Nick Griffen was quoted as saying in the "Indie" yesterday, its what the media want to publish as its what the public want to hear.

There is an edition of "Dispatches" coming up detailing the upsurge of violent assaults on moslems. It also examines media coverage and points out the fact that if similar media coverage and wholly irrational assaults were to be carried out against blacks and jews there would be outrage.

Apparently the rationale given is that by battering some shop owner or other a blow is being struck against an ideology not the people themselves. No, a battered shopkeeper is a battered shopkeeper.

Personally, I could care less about religion or its different forms, Oxford Has a huge problem with disgusting properties bought to let by certain people. It needs to be tackled before all families are gone and gone for good. Or would it be more of a moral obligation to put our heads in the sand, rather than be branded something by someone else who is more morally comfortable with themselves and wishes everyone else to wonder how righteous, liberal & caring they are.

Come on then, tell us who owns these properties and why if similar properties are owned by white landlords you pass no comment on them.

I live here Alan, I open my curtains every morning to a woeful sight, I have asked the Land Lords to improve it and all I received was abuse. Facts are facts what ever you brand me with. Your absolutely 100% correct though, I haven't noticed any white Land Lords.

Are you sure the tenancy agreements make the landlord responsible? Could it not be the tenants responsibility?That is quite common.

Well, they're still Muslims. Evangelicals are still Christians, nutters or not. Don't blame one section of a religion, lump them all together. They, along with all other religions, are total hogwash and their followers, odd.
