Kayak fans have a wild, wet time

Kayak enthusiasts had a wild, wet time on the Thames during Abingdon's annual Blastathon competition.

Last Saturday's event, organised by the Kingfisher and Pathfinder Youth canoe clubs, had been delayed for two weeks because of high river levels. Last year's joint winner, Chris Wheeler, had to retire from the contest, and first and second places were taken by Richard Morley and Michael Neal respectively.
