The Oxford Bus Company has announced a number of changes to its services next month.

Timetables for the 35A and 35B services between Oxford, Abingdon and Didcot, and the 500 park-and-ride service between Water Eaton and Oxford city centre, are changing from Sunday, June 1, following a review of subsidies by the county council.

The 35A or 35B between Oxford, Abingdon and Didcot will no longer run in the evenings.

Instead, all evening journeys will run between Oxford and Abingdon only. Evening journeys between Abingdon and Didcot will be operated by Thames Travel as routes 32B/C.

From Monday, June 2, the 500 park-and-ride service will run every 15 minutes throughout the day but it will only call at a limited number of stops in Banbury Road.

Are the 32B/C going to be subsidised?

Yes, the evening journeys always were subsidised passed Abingdon towards Didcot but the contract has passed to Thames Buses. You can buy through tickets on either bus companies service, but you have to change in Abingdon now.

Shame there's no direct service to Didcot; yes, I know there's a train, I use it, but the station is a long way from many workplaces, and the current bus service takes forever.

well there goes another country bus service.. Thames Travel are known for running a poor unreliable service.. you will be lucky the buses turn up or the drivers get lost..

The changes are A bad idea. They are taking away the direct service to Didcot in the Eves. These changes are going to make the journey last forever unlike the 35A/B did.

I am worried about Thames Travel taking over these routes.. I have been Abandoned by a "So called" Thames Travel bus service in Witney a few years ago that failed to show, it was the last bus of the day and I ended up having to get a Taxi Home.. This is the end of any form of decent service to Didcot.

I'm worried about Thames Travel taking over those routes too if their buses just fail to show.

Thames Travel are starting a new Express X32 bus from Didcot and Harwell to Oxford from the same date. The timetables are on the Traveline website now. Its an hourly express service via the A34.

Thames Travel are no less reliable than Oxford Bus or Stagecoach. I've regularly used Thames Travel buses and they are normally clean, tidy and reliable, plus they have a fairly modern I have been left behind by bus services by Stagecoach and Oxford Bus.
