Trains are beginning to leave Oxford towards Didcot but there continues to be delays.

Rail passengers travelling between Oxford and Didcot were experiencing major delays earlier this morning because weekend engineering works had not been completed.

Passengers arriving at Oxford were forced to get the bus to Didcot Parkway.

The first train to start running was the 8.07am to Didcot, however there are still delays of up to 18 minutes being announced.

Estimates are that the delays could be expected until 10am.

The work that was being carried out by Network Rail was in the Hinksey area.
