Oxford MP Layla Moran celebrated after the Liberal Democrat candidate beat the tories in a landslide win at the Vale of White Horse By-Election.
Sally Povolotsky won the seat Steventon and Hanneys ward which has been held by Thames Valley’s Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Matthew Barber since 2003.
Mr barber resigned as a district counsellor to spend more time on his work as a PCC.

Mrs Povolotsky won 878 votes and beat Conservative’s Louise Brown who secured 519 and Labour’s David Corps, who had 199 votes.
In her message on twitter Ms Moran said: "First result of the night for us: Sally Povolotsky takes Steventon from the Tories with 55% in by-election.
"Bravo Sally and team! cracking result."
The Conservative Party used to hold 27 of the 49 seats, but early on Friday two cabinet members, including the deputy leader, lost their seats to Labour and Liberal Democrat candidates.
