First Great Western has had to halt the introduction of its new Oxford Night Out ticket, due to problems over its use on Arriva CrossCountry trains between Oxford and Banbury, according to the Cotswold Line Promotion Group.
CLPG spokesman John Stanley said: "Although the details of the problem have not been fully explained, it appears to relate to the fact the ticket is to be valid between Oxford and Banbury.
"As it will be available on trains of other operators, it needs their agreement and this does not appear to have yet been received."
The £3 evening rover ticket will be valid in the area bounded by Banbury, Bicester Town, Didcot Parkway and Kingham stations.
FGW also launched Oxfordshire Day Ranger and Thames Valley rover tickets this month, but these are unaffected.
