Model trains are expected to pull in the crowds when a railway exhibition celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Enthusiasts are expected to descend on Exeter Hall in Kidlington this weekend to see dozens of locomotives, steam engines and carriages wind their way around intricate tracks. The annual exhibition, organised by the 33rd Oxford (Kidlington) Scout Group, includes trains from across the world dating from the last two centuries.

The event was launched in 1983 as a fundraiser for the local Scout group, which now has about 200 members, based in Blenheim Road. Since then it has raised thousands of pounds.

The exhibition runs from 10.30am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday. Tickets cost £3 for adults and £2 for children and senior citizens.

I do hope First Great Western are not involved in this. Nothing would work and the weekend would be a disaster. Well done Scouts, I hope it goes well for you.
