City of Oxford waved goodbye to three stalwarts as they finished their Speedo League campaign.

Pippa Canlan-Shaw, Allanor Jenkins-Strong and Carla Prince, who have all represented the club at the national championships, made their last appearance in City's respectable mid-table finish, which retained their Division 1 berth for next season.

City claimed three victories.

Thomas Papagella trounced the competition in the 13 and under 100m butterfly, as did Sam van de Schootbrugge in the 15 and under breaststroke.

In the men's open 100m freestyle, Chris Aust swam an impressive 54.99secs to snatch first place.

In the same category, Peter Button took second place in the men's 100m breaststroke, while Carly Hailes was runner-up in the 15 and under 100m backstroke.

In the 11 and under age group, Emma Lomas and Thomas Rudde came second in their 50m freestyle events.

In her swansong, Prince took third in the women's 100m backstroke as did Lucy Smith, who missed out on second in the 50m backstroke by less than two-tenths of a second.

Witney completed their Speedo West Midlands League competition by finishing second at Linslade.

The runners-up spot secured Witney a top-ten position in the standings.

James Bark's powerful swim in the boys' 15 and under butterfly gave him victory and Ottilie Uden's strong finish saw her home first in the girls' 11 and under backstroke.

Abingdon Vale won the third and final round of their Speedo League meeting at Aquavale in Aylesbury.

And two club records were shattered in the process.

Amira Mullaney lowered the 16 and under 100m butterfly record by a large margin to 1min 9.15secs, and moves to within half a second of the open record.

Jocelyn DeVaux's 100m freestyle record in the 16 and under age group takes him to No 1 in the county.

Charlie Hedderly was the only swimmer to win her event in all three rounds in the 50m backstroke.

Sam van de Schootbrugge set two Dutch national age group records in his first International Open Meet in Eindhoven.

Swimming in the open 200m butterfly and 200m backstroke, he achieved personal bests of 2.13.35 and 2.11.99 respectively.

Both were British Olympic trials qualifying times and Dutch national records.
