A new pre-school building received a VIP send-off, with Henley MP and Mayor of London hopeful Boris Johnson cutting the ribbon to declare it officially open today.
He praised fundraisers involved in the £190,000 Warborough & Shillingford Pre-School project, saying: "Providing good school facilities is essential for giving the children the best possible start in life."
Dr Kate Croudace, chairman of the pre-school, said: "This building, as well as being a pre-school, will play a crucial role in serving the wider needs of the community, including breakfast and holiday clubs, adult education, after-school clubs and other activities."
Earlier in the day, he praised airmen at RAF Benson for their "sheer bravery". Mr Johnson met helicopter and ground crew at the airbase, which has been involved in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, and tried out a helicopter flight simulator.
