RISING dance star Holly Ford-Langstaff is among those busily rehearsing for the 20th anniversary of the English Youth Ballet’s Swan Lake.

The 12-year-old from Launton, in Bicester, bagged a part in the performance after wowing judges in auditions.

She was then selected to take part in the anniversary production at The New Wimbledon Theatre on Friday, August 24, and Saturday, August 25.

Holly, who is a student at the Victoria Hill School of Ballet, will star alongside international principal dancers Philipp Bolloev, Samantha Camejo, Clair Corruble, Oliver Speers, Monica Tapiador, Philip Tunstall, Steven Wheeler & Trevor Wood.

The rest of the cast will be made up of 100 dancers such as Holly, aged eight to 18 and selected from all over London and the South East.

English Youth Ballet (EYB) founder Janet Lewis said: “EYB is all about providing extra performance experience to dancers.

“We saw a very pleasing standard at the auditions and it was lovely to see lots of enthusiasm.”

Principal dancer Ms Tapiador added: “The young dancers are treated like professional dancers during rehearsals – we work hard but the results are fantastic.

“They learn what the life of a professional dancer is like. They are living their dream and they just love it.”

The shows will be 7.30pm on Friday and 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday.
