A GRANDMOTHER has raised more than £3000 for charity after cycling from London to Paris in June.

Catherine O’Driscoll, from Witney, completed the five-day trip in aid of Children’s Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF) with her daughters Philippa, 37, and Christine, 35.

Donations continued to flood in after the team reached the French capital on June 29 and the final total was revealed this week as £3,100 - almost three times the fundraising target of £1250.

Mrs O’Driscoll had long wanted to complete the challenge and chose this year as it marked her 60th birthday.

The charity is close to the West Oxfordshire resident's heart after her nephew, Mark, who is now 18, was born with the rare genetic disorder alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency, which affects the liver and organs.
