A MAN wearing a Halloween mask made off with a woman's handbag in a late-night attack in Oxford.

The victim was walking along Ferry Road, in New Marston, about 12:20am on Sunday when the man grabbed her handbag from behind.

Thames Valley Police said when she resisted the masked man hit her on the head and she let go of her bag.

The force said he made off on an 'orange hire bike' and turned left down Marston Road towards Marston.

The robber is described as a quite tall man, of slim build. He was wearing dark clothes, a baseball cap and a green coloured halloween face mask or face paint.

Oxford Mail:

Thames Valley Police did not describe the mask in any more detail.
