POLICE have released CCTV images of three people they are trying to trace after a woman in her sixties had her purse stolen in Oxford city centre.

The woman was standing at the bus stop in St Aldates at around 2.45pm on Wednesday, June 20 when two people approached her and stole her purse in a pick-pocket theft.

The offenders then walked to Barclays Bank on Cornmarket Street where they met with a third person and withdrew money using two bank cards.

Officers say the three people in the images may have crucial information relating to the theft and fraud investigation.

Investigating officer PC Archie Coyne of the investigation hub based at Oxford police station said: "I believe the people pictured in these CCTV images may have important information to help with this investigation.
