IVO Pekalski has left Oxford United to rejoin Halmstads on loan for the rest of the season.

The agreement runs until November, when the Allsvenskan campaign ends.

It ends, temporarily at least, an unhappy spell in England for the 27-year-old, who Pep Clotet signed for an undisclosed fee from Halmstads last August.

Pekalski ruptured cruciate knee ligaments in his first training session and by the time he recovered, Clotet had been sacked.

New boss Karl Robinson was quick to tell the midfielder, who still has a year to run on his deal, he had no future with the U's and was encouraged to find a new club.

Speaking to the Halmstads website, Pekalski said: "The adventure in England was not as I wanted or expected, it became something completely different.

"When I can not play football it's not so funny, but I know myself that I've dealt with the situation that I ended up in the best possible way.

"But now I'm looking forward to getting started."
