STUDENTS at one of Oxfordshire’s most prestigious schools paid for a Trump-inspired slogan to fly above their leaving ceremony to protest changes at the 150-year-old institution.
Final year boys from Radley College, near Abingdon, raised more than £700 to pay for an aircraft and banner bearing the words ‘Make Radley great again’.
It was in response to efforts by headteacher John Moule to modernise the £38,000-a-year school since his appointment in 2014, according to the Daily Telegraph who spoke with a ‘source close to the school’.
The source said: “He was brought in as a moderniser... but he has made some unpopular and drastic changes in the last few years.
“He has completely done away with the school’s crest and its Latin motto and decided they need to have a new logo, as part of a corporate-style rebranding.”
Other objections include the loss of ‘quirky and old-school-style masters’ and bad press over breaches of GCSE exam procedure.
