A CAR and a bag containing bank cards and cash were among items stolen in a series of burglaries in Oxford.

Thames Valley Police has revealed that a number of burglaries took place in areas throughout the city including East Oxford and Headington.

The force is not linking the burglaries, which occurred between Friday and yesterday.

  • Thieves entered a home in Grovelands Road, Oxford, on Friday at around 9.30am to 9.45am.

They went into the living room where they snatched a handbag containing bank cards and cash.

  • A home in Headington Road, Oxford, was targeted at some point between 7.45am on Friday and 8pm on Sunday.

It is believed that thieves slipped the lock of the property's front door to gain entry.

Once inside the raiders ransacked the bedrooms.

Police are unclear about what items were stolen at this stage.

  • Another burglary occurred in the early hours of Sunday, sometime before 9.45am.

The thieves got into the home's back garden and then got into the house via an insecure door.

They stole a TV, a laptop and several video games as well as a car parked outside.

The vehicle is a silver VW Polo with a partial registration of OE5 1F**.

Police are not sure how many burglars were involved in each of the raids.

The force has urged anybody who saw anything suspicious, or any one with any information about the crimes, to contact them on 101.
