DEMOLITION work is due to begin today on a fire-ravaged council office, more than three years since it was torched in an arson attack.
South Oxfordshire District Council is expecting contractors on site in Crowmarsh Gifford, near Wallingford to begin preparatory works before taking down the remains of its old headquarters.
The demolition, which is expected to take four months, will pave the way for new offices to be built on the same site in Benson Lane.
Staff at the council, and the neighbouring Vale of White Horse District Council, have worked from a temporary headquarters in Milton Park since the blaze.
