FILM crews are expected to return to one West Oxfordshire village after a movie version of Downton Abbey was confirmed.
Bampton, near Witney, is the setting of the show’s outdoor scenes, with notable locations including St Mary the Virgin Church and the village library.
Production is due to start this summer and a release next year is likely, with the action picking up from the show’s finale.
The show ran for six seasons on ITV in the UK and PBS in the US, winning three Golden Globes and 15 Emmys.
