DONALD Trump is visiting Oxfordshire today, as part of his four-day visit to Britain - from 'the Beast' to Blenheim frivolities, here's what we know so far.

The US President and First Lady, Melania, will be hosted by the Prime Minister, Theresa May, for a black tie dinner at Blenheim Palace this evening.

This afternoon, the President's plane touched down at Stansted Airport following an ongoing NATO summit.

Tonight there will also be a military ceremony ahead of the meal.

A Downing Street spokesperson said: "The event will begin with a military ceremony in the Great Court performed by the bands of the Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards."

Business leaders will also be present at the meal.

The timings of the Blenheim frivolities have not been disclosed.

However, protesters are set to gather at the front of the Palace from 5.30pm this evening.

MP Layla Moran, who will be attending, has called Mr Trump's visit a 'vanity project'.

The Facebook event, which has 'interested' 1,500 people - with a further 750 attending - is being organised by Oxford Stand Up To Racism, Together Against Trump and Oxford Stand Up To Trump. Local MP Layla Moran is also due to attend.

A heavy police presence has been reported near Upper Heyford, where it is rumoured that the controversial US leader could land by Marine One, his helicopter.

But protesters could still get a glimpse of Mr Trump, since it is not known whether he will arrive at Blenheim by helicopter. He could be in 'the Beast' - a £1.5 million bulletproof limousine rumoured to be able to withstand a bomb and chemical attack.

Mr Trump has two, that are identical, and up to 1,000 travelling staff with him on the trip.

The US President is reportedly set to use the seven-seater black Cadillac for short trips around the UK and has been doing so on the NATO summit. Bottles of the president's blood type are carried on board in case of a medical emergency, and a satellite phone enables communication to be maintained from anywhere in the world.

As well as being able to defend the president, the car also features a host of attacking capabilities, such as a pump-action shotgun and a tear gas cannon.

Other transport options include two planes, six helicopters and up to 30 vehicles, with a huge police and security service presence. Military aides will also be carrying the nuclear 'football', from which he can launch a nuclear strike.

Amid what is reportedly the biggest UK police operation since the riots in 2011, security has been tightening up around Blenheim Palace. There have been reports today of riot police and water cannon being sighted in the UK, but these could be on the way to London.

Trump Oxfordshire visit - security ramped up

Earlier this week, aircraft, believed to be from the US military, were seen flying over Oxfordshire. Restrictions are in force over local airspace.

Are these Donald Trump's helicopters scouting out Oxfordshire?

Security staff were spotted giving nearby pubs and businesses a list of numbers to call if they noticed any suspicious activity.

Oxford Mail:

New heavy duty steel barriers and fences have been seen being installed around Blenheim Palace.

Following the dinner, Mr Trump will then travel to the US Ambassador's residence in London, where he will stay overnight.

That calls in to question the truth of rumours that he could visit former Prime Minister Winston Churchill's grave tomorrow morning, at 5am

Tomorrow, Trump will have bilateral talks with Mrs May at chequers, before he and Melania meet the Queen at Windsor Castle.

He will then travel to Scotland, where he is expected to play golf for much of the weekend.
