A HISTORIC flypast featuring up to 100 aircraft will feature helicopters based at RAF Benson and RAF Brize Norton.

RAF100 centenary celebrations will reach new heights today with a parade and flypast in London, which will see scores of aircraft soar over Buckingham Palace as the Royal Family looks on.

Puma HC2 and Chinook HC4 helicopters, based at RAF Benson near Wallingford, will be among those leading the fleet.

RAF Brize Norton's transporter aircraft the Voyager, C-17 Globemaster and C-130J Hercules will also take part in the display, which is scheduled to take place at 1pm.

The RAF has promised the flypast will be 'a spectacle never seen before and one that won’t be seen again for a very long time'.
