WORKMEN steam ahead with the upgrade works being undertaken at Oxford Station as lines close for 16 days.
Disruption is expected throughout the coming weeks as Network Rail undertake major works to improve the station and line in and out.
Engineers were getting stuck into the track improvement works yesterday on the first working day which commuters faced getting buses out to Oxford Parkway.
Work over the coming weeks includes installing new track, signals, switches and crossings. The work is expected to improve journey times in and out of the city.
The works will take place for the coming weeks up to Sunday, July 22, and affects Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry trains and Great Western Railway.
Passengers can travel between Banbury, London Marylebone and Oxford Parkway on Chiltern Railway services or to Paddington using bus replacement service to Didcot Parkway.
Buses go from Becket Street Car Park,Oxford.
