A HORSE was rescued by firefighters after it had collapsed in Cornbury Park.

The horse, thought to be called Rocky, crumpled to the floor whilst out in the estate near Charlbury, West Oxfordshire, on Friday.

Oxford Mail:

More than 10 firefighters from Burford Fire station and the specialised rescue crew from Kidlington worked together to get the horse back on to his feet.

A video of the rescue shows the team using harnesses to roll the horse from its side, on to its back and then over on to its feet.

With a little wobble the horse was able to push itself back up.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue service posted the video online and said it was a 'hard rescue' but the owner was extremely relieved and grateful for their efforts.

Oxford Mail:

Comments on the post suggested the owner wanted to pass on her thanks for the 'kind, calm and professional' rescue and a picture was posted of Rocky later that weekend happily grazing in his paddock.

The comment added the horse had recovered and was back to full health.
